The County Seat Theater Company has been providing Carlton County and the region with quality entertainment since 1987. It all began as a fund raiser for the Carlton High School Band. The time has come to realize our community theater’s full potential. We invite you to join our “Award Winning” theater company as we take our next giant step.

County Seat Theater has purchased a new building which is located near the intersection of Hwy 33 and Interstate 35 on the south edge of Cloquet. This building now called, the ENCORE Performing Arts Center and Gallery, has been renovated into a beautiful and comfortable theater and art gallery for all to enjoy. We offer our own theatrical productions as well as special guest performers in an intimate theater setting.

Our friends, fans and local businesses have become a part of this exciting project. Donations received so far have made the down payment and the needed renovations possible. We are still seeking donations to pay down our mortgage or support our general operations. Our mortgage repayment is currently around $200,000 and annual production and operating expenses run about $90,000 per year.
